• Actively participate in and provide expert input into corporate and Whole of Government initiatives on business matters and processes with a view to influencing outcomes consistent with divisional business priorities, needs, policies and procedures• Undertake research, analysis and functionality assessments of existing business management systems with respect to meeting governance requirements and strategic objectives and operational requirements• Participate in the development, integration, implementation and management of business improvement initiatives for the Division• Participate in development, implementation, review and maintenance of internal systems, processes and work practices, identifying areas of improvement and recommending / implementing enhancements to existing practices• Lead the development of business processes and system advancements and improvements with particular reference to internal business processes and reporting• Develop or update business requirements specification documentation for new or re-engineered system impacts• Develop or update process maps for new or re-engineered processes.

As there was no direct Risk or Audit management function within ICT Operations at TMR, I inaugurated this position in order to instigate controls, reporting and compliance. Within 6 months our branch went from having no up-to-date Risk information and over 20 outstanding audit recommendations to having the only ongoing branch Risk Register within iDivision and having no outstanding Audit recommendations.

Given that the vast majority of Changes take place within the Infrastructure division, it was decided that a dedicated Change and Configuration management resource was needed to control, audit and manage change within the division. I inaugurated this role.

The Production Assurance team worked closely with Change Management as the final 'gatekeepers' of software release, ensuring that no software is released without proper signoff and utilising a highly sophisticated automated release process that ensured nearly instantaneous rollback and complete audit trails.

I worked as a systems programmer for Systime for many years. The company provided a full dealership software & hardware package to the Motor Dealer industry.

I spent 6 years in the Canadian Navy as a Weapons Specialist, working on all aspects of shipborne weaponry.
