My research sought to establish a technology allowing the real-time monitoring of immune cell cytokine secretion. Integrates microfluidics with micro-electrodes to allow cell capture, isolation, stimulation, and cytokine secretion monitoring on the same chip. Biosensing accomplished using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS).

Conducted particle analysis on 238-plutonium oxide via static microscopy, which included particle sampling, image manipulation, data extraction from images, and statistical analysis. Determined trends in 238-plutonium oxide particle size distribution with respect to time. Work and results presented at the 2013 Nuclear and Emerging Technologies for Space.
Undergraduate Student Employee
Researched various instruments and techniques that could be used to conduct particle-size analysis of sub-micron sized particles of plutonium oxide. Determined most appropriate method via literature searches, contacting vendors, and discussing method desirables and restrictions with other researchers.
Undergraduate Research Assistant
Designed and installed a high-temperature creep testing laboratory. Set up many aspects within the lab, including wiring and software. Collaborated with professional movers and electricians, as well as professionals at UDRI. Project undergone with minimal supervision. Assisted with literature searches and laboratory work.
