I led a small team on concept-to-production of a new x-ray detector, including coordinating across multiple offices internationally and contributing to design, testing, and implementation.I also performed high-precision, client-focused residual stress testing using a variety of x-ray diffraction measurement instruments, determined by factors such as geometry and material or alloy composition.As Safety Officer, I implemented new chemical and general safety procedures, conducted safety training for all new hires, wrote technical documentation, and kept the company in compliance with city, state, and national workplace safety regulations.

I researched, crafted, and wrote clean energy and environmental justice policy for statewide policy agendas. I contributed to plans such as Renew Michigan (a bold green jobs plan to create a thriving clean economy) and companion Urban and Rural Agendas (which recognize the unique challenges faced in cities and rural areas, and offer targeted solutions). I also participated in field research, consulting with experts, activists, and residents on policy across the state, and communicated the policy agendas to voters.

I advised incoming students about academics at U of M, and helped them build their schedules and register for classes. This involved advising a group of seven students in each session (33 sessions throughout the summer), and working closely with other peer advisors and LSA advising staff to present the relevant information to larger groups of students and assist them with individual registration.

My work involved operation of vacuum components and x-ray/high-voltage devices, data collection, and data analysis.I also worked on fabrication of mm-scale experiments designed to model various hydrodynamic instabilities.
