- As a DSO and ARO, served as the Student Immigration Specialist for F-1 and J-1 international students in the following groupings: Sponsored (SACM, Oman, Fulbright, etc.) students, Center for English as a Second Language (CESL) students, J-1 Student Non-Degrees, College of Medicine students, and Martin School of Public Policy & Administration students. Advise international students in these groups on maintaining their F-1 or J-1 status and update their SEVIS records accordingly.- Oversaw free adult English language conversation classes for J-1 scholars and their J-2 dependents. - Fostered and maintained relationships with sponsoring agencies. - Issued initial I-20s and DS-2019 for admitted undergraduate and Center for English as a Second Language international students.- Co-led in the implementation of the Kentucky Innovative Scholarship on the university's campus to support displaced/refugee students. Oversaw Refugee Student Support Initiative to support the admission, enrollment, academic success, social integration, and welbeing of refugee transfer students from Afghanistan.

- Served as first point of contact for all visitors to UK International Student & Scholar Services (ISSS) by managing main office traffic (in-person, virtually, over the phone, and through general ISSS office email).- Supervised student and temporary workers.- Manage and advised UK colleges and departments on requests submitted to ISSS to invite J-1 exchange visitors (J-1 Research Scholars, Short Term Scholars, Professors, and Student Interns) and sponsor H-1B employees.- Served as first reviewer of all J-1 and H-1B requests submitted to office and assisted H-1B Advisor in preparing and shipping H-1B and Green Card petitions to USCIS- Provided immigration advising for F- 1 (as a Designated School Office - DSO) and J-1 international students.- Issued initial Form I-20s to newly admitted undergraduate students.- Managed office supplies, coordinated schedules and appointments, and managed conference room schedules.

- Developed and assisted with programming such as the Graduate International Student Orientation and Make-up Orientation.- Assessed student satisfaction through designing and marketing surveys such as an Orientation Survey and the i-graduate survey.- Participated in professional development opportunities including staff meetings and the hiring and training of undergraduate student workers.- Developed and designed online OPT modules and benchmarked immigration-related service fees.- Researched the unique needs of the University of Kentucky’s international student athlete population.

Aug 2018-Dec 2018: Served as an administrative assistant to the Director of Graduate Studies and Department Chair for Educational Policy Studies and Evaluation (EPE) by assisting the department’s mission to foster community engagement, belonging, and understanding among EPE students and faculty. I recruited student volunteers for EPE new student campus tours and current student panel discussions, facilitated the creation of the EPE Graduate Student Council, created directories for current and past EPE students, and established and led a graduate student interest group in comparative and intl. ed.May 2018-Aug 2018: Under the direction of two professors and UK’s Special Collections Research Center, I curated a digital collection on Kentucky Jewish History within Omeka, an online database. This involved metadata editing, meeting with prominent Jewish community members to identify persons and events from historical images, researching the history of Kentucky Jewish life, facilitating digital and oral history recordings at the Camp Shalom 50th Anniversary Celebration, and coordinating and assisting with a video and audio-recorded Lexington Downtown Walking Tour highlighting historical Jewish Kentucky.Aug 2017-May 2018: I assisted the then Department Chair of Educational Policy Studies and Evaluation (EPE) and a professor from the department of Jewish Studies to bring to fruition the 2018 Kentucky Jewish History Symposium, an event celebrating and encapsulating a 5-year research project funded by the Jewish Heritage Fund for Excellency (JHFE) focused oral histories of Jewish Kentuckians. As the coordinator for this event, I assisted in website development, designed promotional materials, and wrote a guest post on the blog “Southern Jewish Life.” I also designed and produced posters based on oral history interviews and oversaw day-of logistics for the 2-day event.

Assisted the Communications & Grant Coordinator in preparing for KRM’s annual fundraiser, Passport to Flavor, by sending out sponsorship letters, coordinating and requesting donations from various local businesses for the silent auction, coordinating and supervising volunteers and performers, developing and designing social media advertisements, interviewing past and current clients as well as interpreters in order to design posters highlighting their stories and the importance of familiar cultural dishes in their transition to the United States, coordinating with interpreters for interviews, interpreting for clients in Spanish, handling general community donations and delivering to client homes, preparing the event location, and greeting community members to the event.

Assisted International Student Advisor, updated office’s website, improved international student fall orientation, consulted international student offices at other Kentucky higher education institutions, built upon results from international student surveys on interactions with domestic students, developed College’s first pre-arrival modules, researched topics related to international students, designed brochures on how U.S. employers can hire international students.

Provided translation services from Spanish-to-English and vice-versa, prepared items for display, researched topics of interest for museum, encouraged both domestic and international visitors to participate in hands-on activities in the Community Education Center.
