The flexibility provided by this role allowed me to study full-time at university while maintaining an 18-24+ hour work week.During my time as a laborer for Deja Blue I developed a range of transferable skills that I never expected to gain prior to commencing. I was able to further develop my communication skills across a range of stakeholders. Problem-solving is an inherent part of the industry, I greatly improved my skills within this area. Additionally, I gained hands-on experience with construction tools and techniques, which gave me a deeper understanding of the construction industry as a whole.

I am thrilled to have had the opportunity to gain experience in a field I had little prior knowledge about, this allowed me to build a diverse skill set. Initially, I was part of the mass rostered team where I honed my skills in data entry and analysis.Through this experience, I have developed a strong understanding of data entry and analysis, as well as the ability to tackle complex problems and work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve desired outcomes. During my time at Kmart, I had the opportunity to work in various positions, from the store floor to leading the back-of-house team, this provided me with tremendous learning experiences early in my career.As a Team Leader at Kmart, I was responsible for the back-of-house operations, including decanting, organising stock and inventory control. I managed a team of between 8 and 16 members depending on work requirements, which helped me develop strong delegation and people management skills. Working with a diverse range of people from various ages and backgrounds, I was able to bring them together to form a seamless team dynamic.
