Having started as a registered nurse within Concord Hospital, I've developed various skills and learnt from various sources and has now progressed into Clinical Nurse Consultant. I've been given the chance to work closely with top tier pharmaceutical companies to help develop studies and research projects. Currently, I work for Concord Hospital specialising in the research of solid tumours, some of my responsibilities include;• Developing, facilitating implementation and evaluating care management plans for Medical Oncology Clinical Trial patients, and review the new policies and procedures relating to Medical Oncology Clinical Trials• Liaising with medical officers, nursing team, allied health and technicians within the Cancer Service in preparing patient to receive trial treatment. • Coordinating with Chemo Nurse Manager, Clinic Nurse Consultants, Clinic Nurse Specialist and other senior staff in providing education and nursing care plan to clinical trial patients.• Involvement in quality improvement and provide the high quality care according to objective and policies of SLHD. • Chair monthly multidisciplinary Medical Oncology clinical trials meetings to identify clinical needs relevant to Medical Oncology Clinical trials. • Reviewing feasibilities and protocols, and liaising with the multiple stakeholders to ensure the projects meet the National Clinical Trials Guidelines and Ethics and Governance requirements • Acting as a resource person to the clinical and administrative staff in relation to Medical Oncology Clinical trials, • Assist the Clinical Cancer Service Manager with annual performance reviews for the Medical Oncology Clinical Trials staff.• Ensuring efficient use and appropriate allocation of resources available for Medical Oncology Clinical Trials

• Providing care and education to patients, carers and other health professionals including nurses, medical officers, GPs allied health professionals, pharmacists, laboratory Staff and pharmaceutical company representatives. • Providing in-service of each initiated Oncology trial project to multidisciplinary team and chemo nursing staff • Working together with trial patients and their carers in drafting treatment and care plan • Liaising with medical, nursing, allied health and technicians within the cancer centre in preparing patient to receive trial treatment • Continuing monitoring and follow-up with patient care • Involvement in quality improvement and maintaining high level communication with multiple stakeholders internal and external to SLHD • Access related planning, assessment, complications and troubleshooting for Oncology Trial patients
