Profile bio

About Christopher Bates

Often I see others taking the opportunity to boast about this or that accomplishment or some specific expertise when summarizing a retrospective of their own talents. What’s left out is the person’s character and how a business partner or employer will benefit from a partnership, in practical terms. It isn’t always about any one person’s specialty per se, often it’s the intangibles, like Passion - Vision - Determination – Logic – Out of the Box Thinking and Practical Experience, that make the difference.I offer a rounded view of how various objectives can be accomplished and I strive to bring the work ethic and technical acumen I’ve acquired, through the 30+ years of working with many very talented leaders from Field Engineers and Tower Crews to RF Managers and CTOs across numerous companies and disciplines in the telecommunications field. It has often been the ability to recognize and leverage the expertise that others possess, to achieve specific objectives, that distinguishes me from others. I encourage open debate amongst my charges and peers, as I believe in allowing their voices to be heard and earnestly considered. Ensuring recognition for their contributions is critical in building a culture where people are encouraged to actively participate in “the processes” as this is what drives business forward. From my Military Service and training with GTE Gov't Systems (General Dynamics), through the initial deployments of GSM networks, when it finally arrived in the USA, to the multitude of migrations and network overlays, with iDEN, N-CDMA & EvDO, UMTS, LTE & 5g. I have extensive experience with numerous equipment vendors (i.e.: Ericsson, Motorola, Lucent, Nokia, Siemens, Samsung, Huawei, Nortel, CCI, JMA, CommScope & more) while working directly for or directly with many principle operators around the world (i.e.: AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Nextel, Sprint, US Cellular, Airtel, Cable & Wireless (Flow) and numerous, including regional WiSPs). During this time I have had roles in various segments of this business - including Field Operations, Performance Engineering, Site Design, Antenna Engineering, Site Construction, Project Management, Tiger Teams, AISG Systems, IoT Testing, Asset Management, Systems Engineering, Sales Support while also possessing an understanding of the financial processes and real estate/site ack aspects of this business.Oftentimes, a vision alone isn't enough, nor is raw expertise - it's the passion and determination in conjunction with those things that make someone effective at what they do...Best Regards to All!

Listed skills include Wireless, Rf, Lte, Microwave, and 32 others.
