Co-coach the "development" cross-country ski team of 16 2nd to 5th graders (including a few 1st graders who are interested in skate skiing). They meet Tuesdays and Thursdays for an hour of fun on snow to learn the basics of both skate skiing and the more traditional classic style cross-county skiing. Trying out a couple of local races is highly encouraged. We teach technique with a variety of styles including direct teaching, exploration based on terrain, and games. Also developed a program consisting of 3 lessons to help master skiers (adults) improve their skate skiing.
