Lead History Interpreter For Ohio Village
Columbus, Ohio, United States
I portray Wilhelm (Bill) Wurst, the co-owner and tavernkeep of the American House Hotel & Tavern in the Ohio Village. Set in 1898, Bill focuses on discussions of German immigrant communities, anti-prohibitionism, hospitality, and LGBTQ issues. I have also learned basic blacksmithing techniques and interpreted a period blacksmith shop to visitors. When the Village is closed, I assist in the Ohio History Center with programming and event support. I have been featured in pre-recorded virtual programs and moderated them live, as well as providing support to a variety of events ranging from Ice Age paleontology to the experiences of WWII soldiers. As Lead Interpreter, I have organized daily operations and served as the contact point between the interpretation and management teams.
