I began with James River's Accounts Receivable team as a daily operations, individual contributor. A few months into my new role, I moved over to begin managing our 3rd party collections operations. I am tasked with rebuilding, from the ground up, the entirety of our processes, workflows, reconciliations and relationship management while still maintaining a support position with our day to day operations. Through our efforts, we've seen a marked growth in our collections and will continue to build on current successes to expand the collections team at James River Insurance.

My Accounting Associate role with James River began with the Payables/Expense team. While with that team we worked to streamline our Payables functions, move to a paperless environment, grow the team and ultimately take on the Payables role for our sister company, Falls Lake Insurance Group. Through that process we were able to expand the team to bring in four-six additional employees as we saw the opportunity for growth, consistency and accuracy when reporting to our general accounting team. I began working the day-to-day functions for the payables team and moved forward to train and cross-train the other team members as the team grew. I also began to implement a process to handle our Federal Reporting 1099s for both James River Insurance and the Falls Lake Insurance Group. Furthermore, I was tasked with building a Key Performance Indicator document that highlighted the work achieved by the Payables team in a visual manner based on specific metrics. This document would function to visualize the work the team completed while also identifying areas of improvement - delivered to the general accounting team and James River's CFO

Archival Assistant in the Government Records Services division. I have helped to develop and manage two of the Library's growing Digital Collections: Virginia Untold, and Profiles of Honor. Both of these collections were new projects to the Library and involved multiple disciplines across the agency to work together to build and visualize an end product. My main involvement was identifying and processing court records relevant to the project while working with the Digital Collections team on how to properly preserve, record and present the myriad of documents we identified. I was able to represent the LVA at the MARAC Conference in 2015 speaking to both our general preservation methodologies but specifically, our efforts to construct a database of enslaved names found in our collections. This project would become Virginia Untold: The African American Narrative - an online portal for research into the Archive's extensive collection of state and local documents regarding those enslaved in Virginia and elsewhere.

Key Signatures was a mid-sized Music School coupled with retail and minor instrument repair. I was employed as the retail manager as well as the company's bookkeeper and payroll analyst. On top of those duties I worked as an independent contractor with Key Signatures as a guitar/voice instructor.
