Developed and maintained dozens of RESTful microservices, built using Java and Spring Boot. Each service was developed using Agile development processes and included Continuous Delivery end-to-end from Git commit, through various levels of testing, and eventually to Production. Contributed multiple design documents leading to successful project releases.Applications were deployed to Amazon Web Services (AWS) and utilized Ealstic Beanstalk, EC2, S3, SQS, Redis, RDS (PostgresSQL). Each system employed autoscaling to handle increased load during peak hours and decrease cost during off-peak hours. Utilized Docker to decrease developer machine setup time and increase uniformity across development environments, as well as further increase test confidence making dev environments more closely replicate Production environments. Performance tested several services to identify proper right-sizing of EC2 instance sizes and scaling parameter tuning. Helped improve monitoring and alerting, decreasing false alerts substantially. Implemented improved reports and dashboards in Splunk. Assisted in documentation on many projects.One service responsible for included sending emails out to customers. Researched alternative email sending providers and identified, then lead the implementation of, an email sending provider which increased visibility in click-through traffic and reporting while simultaneously lowering costs. In addition, performed cross-client testing of various email clients during a large look-and-feel refactor of the existing email.
