The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR ) awareness coalition is a not-for-profit, fixed-term initiative with volunteer companies, designed to assist in raising awareness of the data privacy obligations for companies resulting from current legislation as well as the more onerous obligations which will result from the implementation of the GDPR.The GDPR is the most significant change in European data protection laws in 20 years. It sets more onerous obligations and responsibilities for EU and non EU organisations that collect and process personal information of individuals.The establishment of this initiative was motivated by the growing concern that in Ireland awareness is low across many industry sectors of both existing data protection laws, and more particularly the increased obligations which will be introduced by the GDPR. Coalition Partner companies include data protection experts, as well as IT vendors, legal, fiscal, event and general collaborators.

Role is a mix of Architectural design and Security, as well as infrastructure support. Work closely with the business on implementation of both commercial and IT projects.-Experienced in Windows technologies; Exchange 2003/2007/2010, Server 2003/2008, SQL all versions, Sharepoint, ISA/TMG, and most back office applications. -Other areas of expertise are, Fortinet Firewalls, MDM solutions, Commvault, McAfee, EPO, Credit Card Systems (PCI), VMWare, Blackberry BES server, and Citrix. Also many Industry specific (Telecomms) applications. -Hardware background is in HP and Fujitsu Siemens server architecture.
