About Connie Heckel-Eaddy

✈️ At 18 years old, I started my career by joining the United States Air Force. I completed 9 almost 10 years of active duty service, and decided to separate from the military when I returned from my second deployment.🚼 I then took a 10 year hiatus, staying at home with my children, and completing my education. When my daughter started preschool I decided to rejoin the workforce. At that time I completed a Front End Web Development Certification, and prepared for this new change. 🏥I began my journey back into the work force by accepting an intern position at the Ralph H. Johnson Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center. I was their Visual Information Specialist intern, and focused on creating graphics for a variety of websites, social media platforms, and for print. I used my web design skills and created a variety of landing pages, updates, announcements, etc. on their TeamSite CMS. When COVID hit, I decided I needed a fully remote position.👩‍💻I accepted a contract web design position at the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine (ACRM). At ACRM, I managed their website for their Annual and Spring Conferences. I used their WordPress CMS, as well as the event software CadmiumCD. I also helped with graphic work as needed. 💻After figuring out the new "norm" post COVID, I decided I wanted a permanent position, and began looking for a new position. I accepted a Digital Designer position at Sonepar USA, where I currently work. At Sonepar, I am responsible for maintaining, updating, and managing 16 operating company websites. I use a homegrown CMS to accomplish this using HTML and CSS. Other responsibilities I have are: migrating focus vendors brand pages to our new e-commerce platform via Bloomreach, training all new personnel on our CMS, our gamification software EasyPromos, our interactive PDF software Simplebooklet, our event calendar software Trumba, and our form software Formstack and Marketo, and help with graphic design as needed. I also serve as the Communications Chair for Sonepar's Military Employee Resource Group (MERGE), which entails graphic work as well as maintaining and updating the SharePoint website.
