As a graduate of Cincinnati State Technical Community College with an Associate Degree in Medical Administrative Assistance, I am looking forward to using my education in tandem with my proactive management style as I embark on a career in the business administration assistant or medical administration assistant field. I am extremely detail-oriented, goal driven, and have a passion for helping people. I thrive on challenges, as demonstrated by my decision to go back to school and rejoin the workforce after raising my three children. During my last semesters of school, I chose to partake in a cooperative learning experience with employment at Torchlight Pass LLC, a family-owned development that houses several businesses including a financial planning company, a yoga and wellness studio, a boutique hotel, and a restaurant. As the Administrative Assistant for Torchlight Pass, I oversaw a wide range of office management activities simultaneously for the back-end of these businesses. With this recent work experience, I refreshed my soft skills, such as customer service, documentation organization, task prioritization, and project management, and I firmed up new hard skills, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Publisher. My main focus was to improve the efficiency of the multiple businesses as the owner was pulled between running multiple operations. I identified gaps in invoice tracking and payments, as well as finding many oversights as I poured through the lists of service providers, vendors, and inventory control. Over the next six months, I was able to completely streamline and reorganize everything from billing cycles to deliveries and saved the businesses over $3,000 in incorrect payables. On my recent evaluation, my employer said, “Debbie has been a game changer.” I am proud of that compliment and am grateful that I experienced working in small businesses as I learned how to use my voice to get results, and it was rewarding being able to strike out on my own to handle such duties. It gave me the confidence I needed for my next steps.I am a dedicated employee who will show up where needed. I know that my skills will shine in the workplace. I have raised my children and now it’s time for me to achieve the goals that I set for myself. I am ready to start putting into practice what I’ve learned in the classroom and in the office.
Listed skills include Microsoft Office, Administrative Assistance, Microsoft Word, Management, and 10 others.
