About Crystal Boyd

Crystal Boyd is a Senior Manager, Pollinator Programs at National Fish and Wildlife Foundation. She possess expertise in museums, research, public speaking, editing, museum collections and 17 more skills. She is proficient in Spanish. Colleagues describe her as "Crystal worked as an unpaid intern in our Aquatic Invertebrates program. She was the first intern hired for the program and singlehandedly developed it from scratch. While her designated hours were to be 10 hours a week, she undoubtedly put in double, if not triple, that amount to meet her personal objectives for the program. Objectives, I might add, that have produced deliverables that are still serving the program today. In her three months at the Science Museum of Minnesota, she organized and produced a training curriculum focused on educating and empowering citizen scientists/volunteers with the basics of aquatic ecology along the Mississippi River and surrounding watersheds. She completed a 65 page handbook that supplemented that training, located speakers and stepped in to lead training herself when a trainer fell through. She not only proved to be incredibly knowledgeable, but had an amazing and natural talent for translating lofty scientific concepts into digestable and memorable learning moments. She also managed our new volunteers as they came on board, proving again to have great instincts and thought processes around volunteer leadership. Truly, I could go on about what she provided for us, but the bottom line is she built a sustainable program that exists today. We just trained 18 new volunteers using her handbook and outlines. I heartily recommend Crystal for any position she pursues. In her you'll find a driven achiever of the best kind. She won't accept substandard work, she will work tirelessly and accurately, and always with a smile and a professional presence." and "I assisted in supervising Crystal while she was the aquatics invertebrate program intern at the Science Museum the summer of 2009. Crystal was very organized and self-motivated. She not only had a great knowledge of aquatic invertebrates, including field experience, she also had a passion for helping other get excited about 'water bugs'. Crystal was able to finish the goals she and her supervisors set forth for her, including securing a grant to buy new equipment for the volunteer-led aquatics invertebrate activity. Crystal's strong work ethic and excellent skills in working with a variety of people will be a great asset wherever she chooses to work in the future."

Listed skills include Museums, Research, Public Speaking, Editing, and 18 others.
