What were your expectations and understanding of coaching before starting? I had never had coaching and wasn’t sure what to expect or what I would get out of it. I thought it would be an ongoing conversation about a professional subject/issue/development area that would help me achieve a goal.2. What were the main benefits for you in taking part in coaching at the time? It made me make time to think about myself and my own development, something that I found I didn’t make much time for. It helped me identify what my challenges were in the workplace and what my aspirations were for the future.3. What have been the long-term benefits of coaching for you? It has helped me gain confidence in myself and given me tools to work out solutions to challenges I face, as well as encouraging me to take time to reflect on my goals and how to achieve them. 4. What would you say to others thinking about being coached?Do it! I was nervous and not sure what we would talk about and gained so much.On a personal level: I love taking on challenges, which have included climbing Mount Elbrus in Russia, cycling 300 miles along the River Nile in Egypt for Mencap and X 2 fundraising and school renovation projects for The Bobby Moore Fund in both South Africa and Namibia.
