Sr. Software Engineer
Architect and lead developer of a sophisticated data routing engine that simplifies multiple engineers building and operating several data flows simultaneously. This system was used to monitor for anomalies on the national DOCSIS network and then automatically reconfigure CMTSs based on inferences from services exposing machine learning models.Subsequently moved on to design and implement the Applied AI research cluster. Cluster consisted of a 10G-SR optical network, hybrid HDD/SSD iSCSI SAN, VDI using Nvidia GRID, GPGPU compute nodes using Nvidia Tesla P100, high-density SSD storage nodes for running hdfs-datanodes, and separate compute nodes for running yarn-nodemanagers. Lead every step of the process to completion from determining appropriate specs, shopping for hardware, negotiating discounts with vendors, pushing the procurement request through management, installing all the equipment, developing custom orchestration tools, and using them to install operating systems, software stacks, and all necessary configurations. Choice of tech-stack was based on an extremely limited budget.Following the successful launch of the AI research cluster, moved into data-engineering, assisting data scientists, researchers and other staff engineers develop an assortment of ETL & ML pipelines using Spark, Cuda, OpenCV and more.

Software Engineer
Tools Developer
Architect and developer on a team developing a next-gen distributed SEIM system. This was a distributed system with sophisticated user interfaces which were used for monitoring targets, manage peers, dynamically reconfiguring BGP & upstream carrier ACLs and dynamically reconfiguring GREoIPSEC tunnels. It was also a real-time data aggregation, correlation and inference engine which was used by the SOC to detect, monitor, and mitigate various types of network attacks automatically. System composed of distributed agents, an intermediary, an aggregation cluster, and a web application stack that used JavaScript and web sockets to build a real-time, self-updating web portal. The system utilized reliable messaging patterns implemented on top of ZeroMQ. Persistence and data representation implemented on top of MongoDB, Redis and a proprietary multi-petabyte time series database. Widgets on the management portal were made real-time using Redis, Pub/Sub and Socket.IO. Additionally, the portal provided facilities to manage nodes, execute commands and report data in real-time via a pluggable API with out of the box implementations for REST/HTTP and 0MQ transports, making it easy for Jr developers to build extensions using drop-in plugins. The product was pivotal to the company, refreshing its legacy tech-stack and was an essential factor in the successful acquisition of the company by Akamai.
