Worked on funded research projects under Dr. James Lester in the IntelliMedia Lab. Primary responsibilities included (1) collaborating with educational psychology researchers and STEM subject matter experts to design features and content for adaptive game-based learning environments; (2) leading development of desired features using C# and the Unity game engine; (3) helping organize and facilitate research studies and focus groups in classrooms, virtually via video conferencing software, or in museum settings; and (4) using Python and various NLP and machine learning technologies to analyze student data and train machine learning models for the purposes of gathering insights and informing new adaptive features.
