As a NIHR Research Professor of Children’s Orthopaedic Surgery, I lead pioneering randomised clinical trials across the UK, US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, supported by NIHR (UK), NIH (US), and the StarShip Foundation (NZ). My work focuses on advancing pediatric orthopaedic surgery and acute care.I spearhead innovative projects in Machine Vision, in collaboration with NHSX, Wellcome, and Versus Arthritis, to develop state-of-the-art diagnostic devices. My clinical practice is based at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool, following fellowship training at SickKids Hospital in Toronto, Canada. I specialize in pediatric hip diseases, bone cysts, and trauma, with a particular emphasis on Perthes’ disease.As the National Clinical Advisor for pediatric hip screening for Public Health England, I strive to seamlessly integrate research into clinical practice, utilizing digital tools to revolutionize healthcare delivery. In addition, I serve as the Specialty Lead for orthopaedic trials at the Royal College of Surgeons of England and hold editorial roles at the Bone and Joint Journal, among others.I actively contribute to the research committees of the British Orthopaedic Association (BOA) and the British Society for Children’s Orthopaedic Surgery (BSCOS).Discover more about my trials and research initiatives at www.TOTSresearch.org
