Since leaving JLO at the end of 2004, I began an experiment with my wife's support to change careers to the food service industry. The purpose was to find out if I enjoyed the work, if I could spend enough time with the family and if I could earn enough money to replace the income I earned as an engineer. While I did enjoy it and the hours fit very well with the family schedule, the pay and the opportunities were not adequate. I helped open 3 restaurants in the area and had my own business doing catering with a portable, wood burning pizza oven.
