Communications Specialist
Current- Support flight operations by providing Communication assets. Ensure that, during actual aircraft operations, communication services are available.
- Responsible for operation, upgrade, repair, and maintain equipment, systems, and subsystems for Command, Control and Communication (C3), and items used for Tagging, Tracking, and Locating (TTL)
- Disseminate daily intelligence briefs to the aircrew
- Operate and maintain UHF, HF, VHF, and OTH secure communications
- Develop a communications mentoring program to qualify Afghan communications personnel and transition the responsibilities unique to the communications work center, without coalition force or contractor assistance
- Maintains and operate tactical radios to include the AN/PRC-117F/G, PRC-15, PRC-148, AN/PRC-7(CSEL Survival radio), and COTS (Commercial Off-the Shelf) Personal Locator Beacons
