About Daniel Binder
In 3rd grade I once spent show-and-tell demonstrating how to use a computer. In middle school I served as unofficial IT Support for my teachers. In high school I submitted a history report on ancient Rome in the form of a webpage. Over time, I realized my interest in technology, my ability to learn faster than almost anyone else I know, and my near obsession with efficiency would all be indispensable in software development. I started one project with a desire to improve a tedious upgrade process and ended up producing an ever-growing intranet application used by most of my company for 10 years. In another case, when my boss asked if I could replace a slow batch script that took over five minutes to parse a set of text files, I challenged myself to see how fast the utility I wrote could handle it. The finished product took approximately one second to run. The satisfaction I’ve received from seeing lines of code morph into a fully functional application has never waned. No matter how many projects I complete, there is always a sense of accomplishment that comes from using it, or – even better – watching it benefit someone else. I've worked on larger projects using JavaScript, C#, Perl, PHP, Java, HTML, MySQL, CSS, AutoIt, NSIS, Ruby, and XML; and I’ve dabbled in Python, Groovy, YAML, and Visual Basic. I’m always interested in learning new languages, and my latest is Cypher as part of an implementation of a REST API against a Neo4j database.
