For a detailed list of tasks I have performed, please see my previous role listed below this one...- Working for a service based company who are a video production solutions provider, this put emphasis on making sure revenue and costs are allocated to the correct divisions and projects, to allow for accurate P&L's and margin analysis to be held regularly. - They are a group of companies intertwined, causing cross charges to be needed in order to represent the commitment of different entities. Having to liaise closely with all departments in order to communicate globally the financials of various projects going on and apportion costs fairly. - A different and interesting role, with their systems in the cloud, which allowed me to be more field based and active. Having to create a role from scratch and familiarise quickly, discovering £500k loss in the pot. I befriended and got to work quickly, producing a heavy depot revenue analysis. Morale was low and the systems were a mess, with little control. I created large data sets and financial models containing revenue per contract per vehicle per worker, fleet activity, potential revenue lost and detailing areas of concern. Instead of them spending £20k-£30k on a software to try and give them the fast reactive information needed to make strategic decisions to save the depot, I proved I could do it in Excel alone. They were very impressed with my data models and I was quickly part of the upper management meetings. My proposed 3-part recovery plan was most favoured among my peers, so while they worked on making it happen by pulling strings, I kept the day to day operations flowing. …I made something out of nothing here and it allowed me to expand and realise my own capabilities within spreadsheet software to analyse and produce powerful models to aid decision making.
