Currently serves as a U.S. DHS Protective Security Advisor (PSA) in the New Jersey District where he supports homeland security efforts, serving in an advisory and reach-back capacity to state Homeland Security Advisors. PSAs contribute to the development of the national risk picture by assisting with the identification, assessment, monitoring, and minimizing of risk to critical assets at the local level. PSAs facilitate, coordinate, and perform vulnerability assessments for local critical infrastructure and assets, acts as a physical and technical security advisor to federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies, and provides terrorism/criminal awareness training to both the public and private sectors

As the section chief for the Emergency Services Sector Specific Agency (ES-SSA) as outlined in Presidential Policy Directive 21 (PPD-21), Critical Infrastructure Security and Resilience, I have overall responsibility for providing institutional knowledge and specialized expertise, as well as leading, facilitating, or supporting the development of security and resilience programs and associated activities within the Emergency Services Sector.

As a Sector Specialist within the Office of Infrastructure Protection (IP), I led national level efforts with public and private sector stakeholders to implement the National Infrastructure Protection Plan (NIPP). My focus was to organize collaborative efforts both inside and outside of the Transportation and Postal & Shipping critical infrastructure sectors to synchronize efficient and cohesive implementation of strategies to protect critical infrastructure and critical infrastructure systems. By using the NIPP partnership model and sector outreach I was able to coordinate public and private efforts focusing on information sharing products and programs, current threat awareness and development of risk mitigation efforts that improved the sector’s risk profile. This required knowledge of current risk reduction tools and programs across the public and private landscape and the development of successful relationships with those program managers which provided the opportunity to coordinate development, modification or communication strategies of risk tools or programs.

As a Senior Operations Planner for ORAU National Security Operations Branch I served as a subject matter expert on processes pertaining to planning and strategy focusing on critical infrastructure protection. As a senior analyst I mentored junior analysts and reviewed their products involving the analysis, evaluation, formulation and dissemination of information which affects terrorism and homeland security issues. Primary focus was as the program manager for ORAU's support of DHS’s Information Analysis Infrastructure Protection Directorate and the follow on Office of Infrastructure Protection’s Buffer Zone Protection Plan and Comprehensive Review programs. This included technical and programmatic leadership to ensure clarity and consistency within the program. It was my responsibility as the program manager to provide oversight and guidance to other planners within the branch, conducted reviews of reports, assessments and travel documentation (pre & post). This ensured compliance with contract expectations and company standards.
