At NextGen I am working on a 40 plus person R&D team spanning multiple locations around the world. The main product I work on is an electronic health records SAAS product which is served up in a CICD environment. As a UI Engineer for NextGen my responsibilities include:- Working within a Lean Agile team to plan and build out new features.- Building highly interactive web pages that heavily rely on vanilla JavaScript.- Writing HTML that is clean, uses proper semantics, and is accessible. - Creating CSS styles that are written in an elegant way that are easy to maintain. - Ensuring our application works across all modern browsers. - Helping to move our front end towards a more modern stack using webpack to build our front end assets and React as our library for building reusable web components.

In my role as a Front End Developer at audacity I was responsible for:– Taking designs or design guides from our creative team and building out fully responsive webpages for cms based applications. – Building out functional prototypes based on wireframes provided by our ux designer.– Learning and using new libraries for templating, animations, charting.– Creating custom JavaScript plugins that could easily be skinned to create custom components, important for speeding up development time.– Working remotely with a client's team of backend developers to build out the front end of their web app.– Performing cross browser testing to ensure our interfaces look great on all modern browsers and supporting IE back through IE9.
