Management Analyst within the Housing and Homeless Services Division, effectuating the City of Vista's Homeless Strategic Plan. Priority focus on development, implementation, and oversight of the Buena Creek Navigation Center. Also provides oversight to current contracts for safe parking and homeless outreach.Partners with North County Cities and the County of San Diego, alongside a variety of for-profit and non-profit entities to help further collaboration around homelessness within our region.

Helping to further the mission of the Alliance for Regional Solutions with regards to short-term housing solutions, case management and services directed at helping unsheltered individuals within North County move towards permanent housing and self-sufficiency.

Managing the North County region for PATH's SD-Homeless Outreach Program contract with the County of San Diego. SD-HOP was designed to engage with individuals experiencing homelessness with co-occurring behavioral health or substance use concerns. Responsible for managing a team of 4 outreach specialists and associated physical assets needed to operate independently in North County. Provided guidance to employees new to homeless services while also ensuring data compliance. Strong HMIS proponent and ensured compliance for best practices. Partnered with community organizations to help increase resources available to outreach team.

Locating individuals experiencing homelessness with potential substance use or behavioral health diagnosis in the unincorporated areas of North San Diego County. Uses a person-centered and trauma informed approach to building rapport, identifying needs, developing a service/housing plan, and providing appropriate referrals and services. Tracks outreach services, client data, and completes VISPDATs through Clarity. Managing an active caseload of 15 while developing 25-50 more individuals. Finding new partnerships to help develop resources to best support our clients reported needs. Providing education to community members with best practices on how to support our unsheltered neighbors.

Responsible for a range of up to 20 Haven House emergency shelter clients, while also servicing CinA and HEAP grants. Haven House case manager responsibilities include identifying needs and housing goals, establishing service plans, linking individuals to services and resources, completing VI-SPDATs and supporting clients as they overcome obstacles to becoming housed. Assisting clients under the CinA and HEAP grants involved helping clients overcome financial barriers allowing them to have better chances at succeeding where credit and income have an influence on decision making processes. Developed strong rapports with other North County San Diego agencies and service providers.

Responsible for screening clients for emergency shelter, maintaining an extensive waitlist, and walking clients through the intake process in a welcoming manner. Worked closely with the Program Manager in creating the current “First come, First serve” policy to help Haven House comply as a low barrier shelter. Developed a rapport with the community experiencing homelessness and promoted the use of available services as clients began taking actions towards bettering their situation. Participated in Homeless Outreach with Escondido PERT/COPPS units.

Ensured a safe and positive environment for clients of all ages, education levels, and cultural backgrounds. Provided temporary assistance to clients in crisis until a case manager could be met with. Ensures shelter code of conduct is followed, ensures cleanliness and maintenance of the property, prepared for dinner service, and dispersed medication. ServicePoint user responsible for all data entry including completing CES entry, and conducting VI-SPDAT Assessments to connect clients with RRH and PSH projects. Worked closely with volunteers to provide dinner service, connecting children to after school mentoring, and other general shelter duties.
