Before starting as a lifeguard, I went through 10 hours of out of pool class training, and 5 hours of in pool training to receive a certification in both Lifeguarding and CPR distributed by the American Red Cross. Training consisted of modules, tests, and weight lifting up to 50 pounds of a deep end pool. On the deck, I was responsible for looking over patrons safety in 30 minute intervals per location chair. When at the desk stand, I was responsible for directing guests to proper lessons, moving lanes, and assisting with questions or concerns. Overall, assisted in two rescues, using the stretcher to get someone injured safety removed from the pool and to a hospital quickly and safely while remaining calm and working with the on deck team.

After attending elementary school here, I went back to work as a teachers assistant and tutor for children grades k-5. I worked after-school hours so keeping children's energy levels contained and focused to the right activities, was a challenge that required consistent attention and alertness. Responsibilities included working with students one-on-one to get homework done such as math, reading and spelling. Aside from this, I was also overlooking sports and extra curricular activities to maintain safety protocols and assist help wherever needed.

Responsible for shelving books with respect to the Dewy- Classification System, which was learned on site. I organized all materials in the library including taking care of the library pet (a bunny), that acted as an emotional support animal for children in the children's section. At times I would host reading sections with children, and worked to keep them engaged and exciting in reading. Also assisted with adult research and computer questions and other administrative work.
