We are locals helping local people affected by cancer.Cairns Organisation United for Cancer Health - better known as COUCH - is a community focused charity with a mission to improve health care services for Cairns and Far North Queensland residents diagnosed with cancer. Established in September 2006 by founders Charles and Pip Woodward, COUCH was inspired by Cairns resident Liz Plummer and her inspiring fight for better oncology services in Far North Queensland.Proudly a member of the COUCH board and our dedicated volunteer team, we work to address the imbalance of services and support for people with cancer - and their families - in Far North Queensland compared to those in larger, metropolitan cities.

Leading the Cairns based Skypark by AJ Hackett into 2020 with accountability for growth and commercial outcomes across operations, sales, marketing, product development and ultimately the P&L. AJ Hackett Cairns includes Australia's only bungy site with a 50m tower and 16 jump options from swan dives to BMXtreme, the family Giant Swing, Tower Climb and one of Cairns top events venues with live music for Sunday Sessions, corporate gatherings and weddings.

With adventures from mild to wild, Experience Co Limited (ASX:EXP) is an adventure tourism company founded in 1999 with the vision of now becoming the largest and most respected adventure tourism company in the world. Experience Co offer adventure experiences of tandem skydiving, hot air ballooning, white water rafting, canyoning, sea kayaking, helicopter flights and tours to the Great Barrier Reef. The company currently has numerous locations throughout Australia and New Zealand. Due diligence on legal contracts, agreements and writing proposals for new tenders.Major Achievements: • Successful award of CCAD ‘TrainYas Bike Activation’ and implementation of the operating procedures for managing 400 bikes at Yas Marina Circuit.• Head of the organising committee and steering the planning of the Abu Dhabi Striders Half Marathon & 10K 2014 and 2015.• Project management of Gulf Multi Sport contribution to the organisation and delivery of ITU World Triathlon Abu Dhabi in 2015 and 2016.

Returned to Australia to seek a management, executive or consulting role.

Responsible to the board to lead the development and implementation of the strategic business plan and establishment of a unique VET business model as a full service education provider during the initial start up and market entry phase. Primary focus on developing Security & Policing and Corporate Performance portfolios in consulting and training. Key areas included Strategy, Innovation, National Security and Law Enforcement for UAE government. • Partnered with major government organisations; Defence, Civil Defence and Police Departments.• Established global and local partners and scale the business model to provide a customised and unique service to local clients in corporate performance, defence and security.• Designed and implemented a corporate marketing strategy, led the business development.• Recruited, developed and led the foundation team whilst embracing the FORGE brand identity and ethos with deep cultural understanding.• Positioned FORGE as a leading and credible education provider and consultancy in the UAE.Major Achievements: • Successful start-up business development and strategic marketing plan to establish the company in various government and commercial sectors.• Development and integration of an Online Learning Environment to develop innovative E-Learning and blended learning in the UAE, and provide new channels of data to validate training.• Establishing an institute with ACTVET licensing and approvals to operate across government agencies including Ministries, Civil Defence, Armed Forces and Police.• Development of strategic level training programs in security, innovation and strategy for UAE government, including delivery of training and programs.

Responsible for course design and development using Systems Approach to Training, along with theoretical and practical navigation instruction. Member of Strategic Management Committee, Course Officer - Commanding Officer Course.• Deliver theoretical and practical training on Bridge Leadership & Management, Bridge Equipment, Collision Regulations, Shiphandling and general navigation utilising classroom and simulation.• Management of up to 11 staff members including: programming, task allocation, mentoring and training.• Management of the Commanding Officer Course, including programming and course instruction.Major Achievements: • Overhauled entire navigation curriculum and mapped to IMO Model Courses for ‘equivalence’ with the Standards of Training and Certificate for Watch Keepers as amended 2010 (STCW 95).• Wrote the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the UAE Navy and National Transport Authority to commence the STCW accreditation process.• Worked with the federal regulator to achieve Institutional Accreditation and accreditation of the Bridge Watchkeeping continuum toward the Officer in Charge of a Navigation Watch.

Leading a team responsible for all aspects of navigation and day-to-day operations of various Patrol Boats, Landing Craft, Frigates and LPA with up to 240 personnel onboard. Multiple operations in the Middle East, Asia and Australian waters.• Developed short, mid and long term Operations Plans including: scheduling, logistical requirements, communications plans and resource management • Conducted Pilotage and Navigational duties: Celestial Navigation, passage planning and execution • Management and leadership of up to 45 staff members including: task allocation, training and mentoring, performance management and • Chaired strategic planning meetings • Provided Briefings and Post Operational Reports to Navy and Army Senior Management• OH & S and Risk Management • Developed, coordinated and facilitated ship-wide training on task specific roles• Provided navigation liaison and assistance to the Amphibious Task Group including advice on anchorage locations, speed of advance issues and even wrote Fragmented Orders for the ATG staff• Extensive liaison with multi-national forces during operation of combined exercises.• Deliver Theoretical and practical training on Celestial Navigation, Tidal Theory, Bridge Resource Management, Search and Rescue, Collision Regulations and general navigation utilising simulation and a purpose built navigation training vessel.• Management of 2 staff members including: task allocation, career guidance, personnel administration, mentoring and training.• Development of course curriculum and student lesson plans, coordinating all aspects of training including facilities, training materials and assessments.• As Workplace Assessor completed all student assessments.
