I have been a clinical social worker and psychotherapist in community primary care medical clinics in a rural setting serving diverse populations for over 20 years first at Krohn Clinic and most recently at Black River Healthcare Clinic. Because of the rural setting and limited resources, I have experience in treating a wide variety of challenges impacting the functioning and quality of life for my community members and patients from childhood through geriatric populations. Most recently I helped develop a new behavioral health department within a new primary care medical clinic and have been a fulltime psychotherapist since its opening in 2020.Being able to work as a team member with primary care physicians and other professionals within the medical clinic setting as well as with other professionals and resources within the community, provides the benefit to my patients of being able to care for them as a whole person. I especially enjoy being able to provide each patient with individualized care and ensure their goals are the driving force of my work with them. Being able to offer my expertise and knowledge within the team as well as learning from others are an aspect that I truly enjoy. I have worked hard to have a reputation as an effective and caring psychotherapist. I have been able to clinically supervise Masters Level Social Workers and mentored newer clinicians and social workers. Prior to my clinical work which started over 20 years ago, I have also worked as a Masters Level Social Worker within 2 Hospice and Homecare programs in rural communities and worked within County Human Services first as a Child Protection Intake Worker then the Developmental Disabilities Coordinator. I was also a County Social Services Supervisor for a brief time prior to graduating with my Masters Degree and being offered a Post- Masters Fellowship at the Yale University Child Study Center. I am involved in many groups and organizations within my community including volunteer work and various committees.
