- Conduct research from a diverse range of sources, undertake systematic analysis and draw conclusions based on evidence, maintaining an awareness of the department’s vision.- Establish clear plans and actions for prioritising, progressing and finalising compliance matters in accordance with Therapeutic Goods Act 1989 and departmental policy.- Progress and finalise compliance matters, including documenting actions in the RIES case management system, and undertaking records management functions in accordance with departmental policy.- Maintain an awareness of developing compliance issues and keep others well informed on issues that may affect the section and its work.- Prepare and/or quality assure general correspondence and compliance documentation including warning letters and destruction notices in accordance with departmental guidelines. Assist in progressing large and/or complex compliance activities, including overseeing the lawful obtainment and submission of samples of goods for laboratory testing.- Establish and nurture strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders including other government agencies and industry bodies to progress and finalise compliance matters.- Assist and mentor other section members, share information, work collaboratively and actively participate in team meetings to foster a strong team focus.- Identify areas of improvement and contribute to the development of procedures and controls to enhance the timeliness and consistency of the section’s work.- Administrative duties as required including preparing briefs of evidence in accordance with departmental policy.

- Monitor and supervise offender management to a high standard and manage operational functions in line with relevant legislation, organisational policies, procedures and professional standards.- Managing compliance of team members and operational functions in line with the above statutory and departmental requirements.- Provide support & professional advice regarding the management of high risk offenders and respond appropriately to risks arising from offender management.- Completion of offender assessments, case planning and reports for both legal and case management purposes. Provide recommendations for legal matters regarding the suitability of community correctional programs for offenders to be considered by Magistrate’s through sentencing.- Participate in case management of offenders on community correctional programs, including completion of reviews, reporting for probation / parole, monitoring of electronic home detention and drug / alcohol testing as appropriate.- Utilise strength based approach and trauma informed practice to provide strong case management to offenders.- Provide complex reports to the courts and parole board in order to provide accurate advice relating to the effectiveness of case managing offenders within the community.- Utilise tools such as electronic monitoring to ensure compliance with offender order conditions.- Engage with, and work collaboratively with key stakeholders including Courts, Government Departments, non-government and community organizations to optimise offender management with the highest standards of community safety in mind, and with a focus on improving service delivery.- Develop, manage and maintain external stakeholder relationships through regularly liaisons, meetings, and addressing of issues to ensure ongoing and sustainable relationships.
