I have two (2) GS-07s and seven (7) GS-06s on my team, I oversee the Emergency Supply Operation Center (ESOC) and the Transportation Discrepancy Report (TDR) section of the Branch. We process an average of 1200 expedites (in ESOC) and 5 TDRs a week. As Lead, I assure each employee has enough work to keep busy, I make day-to-day adjustments according to adjusted priorities, I give on-the-job-training to new employees, I answer questions for employees on procedures, policies, directives, etc, I report to supervisor on the performance, progress and training needs of employees, I furnish information to supervisor on promotions, reassignments and recognition of outstanding performance. I assists supervisor with the distribution and balance of workload among workers. I monitor the status and progress of work and provide workload progress reports to the supervisor. I report backlog to supervisor to plan for overtime coverage when necessary. I prepare production reports and check work of the assistant leads and accept or reject product not meeting standards. I resolve simple informal complaints of employees on procedures, and inform employees of available services and employee activities. In addition, I perform but am not limited to the following duties: Freight shipment and Transportation function. I expedite a wide range of specialized shipments to include oversized, heavy haul, security risk items, and small parcel material and customer pick-up through the supply and transportation system. I prepare and issue paperwork to initiate the Material Release Order (MRO) by written, verbal, and computer system from the DDC and Inventory Control Points, (ICPs). I follow progress of all action from receipt to dispatch. Movements are worldwide by air, or surface with some requiring special handling and accessorial services. Show less
