Standing at 6’4”, Darwin started out playing the quarterback position at Leo Catholic High School. Before choosing his college, he was ranked in the top 150 quarterbacks in the country by Scout.com for the 2009 class. Coming out of high school he went to Arizona Western where he was utilized as a tight end and became a second-team all-conference member, he won two conference titles and went undefeated in 2011. His collegiate success garnered him attention from other big name schools like Memphis, New Mexico, Mississippi and Oregon State but he ultimately chose to finish his collegiate playing career at Arizona State University.In 2012, in his first career start at ASU, he logged his first career touchdown on his first reception in a game against Cal. This would set the tone for the rest of his career at the school. Darwin’s capabilities as a receiver and as a blocker, combined with his size, athleticism, a 4.6 40-yard dash time and a 35-inch vertical leap, makes him an exciting athlete to watch and an easy favorite for fans.
