The responsibilities of the role included group strategy and planning, innovation, PMO, analytics, decision governance, product portfolio management, go-to-market, information management, and product roadmap development. The role operated across a portfolio spanning traditional waterfall methodologies, human centred design, and scaled agile ways of working. The focus of the role was to shape and align the strategy and execution of a large product and innovation portfolio by applying lean and systems thinking approaches to strategic design, investment management, agile portfolio delivery, and decision governance. During my tenure Australia Post experienced the most rapid growth phase in its history.

As the GM Innovation in the $14bn Telstra Retail group, my role was to guide and drive the future direction of the retail business, establish a roadmap that outlines a path to the future, and then deliver significant elements of the plan.The overarching business unit's objective was to reinvent the future retail customer experience for 17 million consumer and SMB customers. My responsibilities within this included group strategy, innovation, portfolio management, data science and analytics, channel technology development, customer experience, network planning and capital investment management. The role was also responsible for transitioning the business unit to more agile ways of working The role also had an operational budget of $87.5m, a capital budget of $42.5m, five direct reports and 30 FTE.
