About David Barber

I'm a super curious engineering student that thoroughly enjoys learning about things that don't initially make sense. I enjoy solving problems that make me think and challenge me to come up with creative solutions. Combining these two passions has lead me to take up interest in both mechanical and computer engineering. I've found that I'm most interested in computer design and electromechanical systems, and I'm aiming to learn effective design methodologies that can enhance my individual capabilities and teamwork dynamic. We are surrounded by seemingly magical technologies spanning from buildings we live and work in to the phones in our pockets. I've always seemed to ask myself: How does all this function? What's amazing about engineering is that I'm not only learning how things function, but how they're designed, tested, and implemented to meet specific goals. Because of this, an engineer must have an adaptive mindset that is capable of considering many design constraints and criteria at once. I've found that the best way to achieve such a mindset is to work on projects and seek out new opportunities. Pursuing my curiosities has lead to my diverse portfolio spanning from research positions to personal design projects. I'm always on the lookout for opportunities to expand my knowledge!
