Joined Horwath as Branch Manager for New Zealand. They owned the license to support and sell CMSData/Aderant Expert in the region at the time. Managed and worked on many of the consulting and on-going development projects for the clients in the region.

Joined as a Technical Consultant. Assisted in the sales and implementation side of the business for new clients. Made my way round many of the large Australian law firms. This role allowed me to up-skill onto the Oracle environment. Became fluent in PL/SQL and Oracle platform development. Became very familiar with the core practice management system.

Immigrated to New Zealand. Started at Simpson Grierson as a DBA. Due to my previous experience was asked to assist in the migration from NZ Law to CMSDATA/Aderant Expert. Developed the conversion scripts and processes. Successfully migrated the data over to CMSDATA/Aderant, Customised the various forms and templates required within the CMSData/Aderant Expert system.

Moved into the contracting and consulting side of IT and worked at RCI (Resort Condominiums International) as Senior development consultant and Systems DBA. They ran an international timeshare system. This environment was built on a 4GL environment and case tools were used to make system wide changes. I managed their upgrade path on the data server side taking their systems from an ALPHA based server running a proprietary Database over to SQL Server 6.0 on HP Servers.

Back into mainstream development at Persetel Holdings. Lead a team of Microsoft Certified Developers in building Microsoft Applications. At that stage Persetel had many products under their banner. My team built and implemented a national wide service desk solution that I designed. At that time this was developed in Visual Basic 3 accessing a SQL Server 4.2. Became a senior development manager for their Microsoft Development projects.

Managed and Assisted in implementing the re-build of the entire IT infrastructure for a growing Eaton Truck Parts manufacturer. This was a transformation from Out-dated terminal systems to a new client server environment. This included the re-build of interfaces to the manufacturing plants CNC lathes and Robotic welders. Once this environment was completed and the team in place moved into the ISO space and implemented their ISO Standards environment. This allowed the Firm to start shipping parts to Europe once certified.

Started as junior developer for a Bureau that hosted Financial and ERP solutions based on a large mainframe backbone. This was before PC’s became relevant. They hosted various large firms in the manufacturing sector. For a short while back then worked on bridging Mainframe and PCs by creating integrated sessions on these devices. Worked my way up to senior programmer and consultant for new business for the Bureau.
