Judge David Brown was appointed to the Sacramento Superior Court in 2008 and was assigned to try complex civil and criminal trials for several years, before being assigned to the Law and Motion department of the court in 2010, where he handled over forty-thousand motions, including complex discovery motions, demurrers, and summary judgment/adjudication motions in all areas of the law, including employment discrimination, wage and hour, negligence, products liability, professional negligence, elder abuse and hospital regulation/administration cases, UM and UIM, class action certification and approvals, professional negligence claims against attorneys, doctors, financial advisors, FINRA, ERISA, and many others. He also served as backup to the Civil Settlement department from 2010 to 2021 where he settled numerous disputes.
