Subject matter expert & System lead Engineer for air brake systems. Lead engineer for several military vehicle systems including brakes, suspension, drive line, and steering. I’ve been involved with several aggressive defense projects such as Cougar, ILAV and EOD vehicles for force protection. I have also been involved in MRAP, SOCOM, AUV, ARV and MMPV for BAE land systems. My project management duties included creating schedules to meet customer timing, project reviews, designing to meet customer expectations, configuration management ensuring that bill of materials are accurate, testing plans are in place, and all materials are expedited to meet company expectations. I’m also involved in Customer service, offering engineering support while trouble shooting for several systems and product maintenance. I work along with our Contracts department, creating vehicle cost specifications and creating statement of work. I’ve received recognition from Spartan for “doing what it takes” to get the job done, and also the Bronze Chairman's award from BAE.I also work on fire truck and motor home air brake systems. Ensuring the product line meets all FMVSS121 requirements. I conduct air brake testing and timing to meet all production and sales requirements. I work on product improvements, cost savings (WOW’s), and also take the lead on PSR’s (problem solving) when issues come up. I also designed a mid engine fire truck chassis for which I have a patent.

Projects that I worked on were the Navistar crew cab conversion for Egypt military, dual drive refuse trucks w/right hand stand-up conversion for Volvo FE series, right hand Drive conversion for Navistar export (RH gear, steering arm, RH molded dash, Pedal Assembly). All-wheel drive conversions w/drop frames for refuse. Telma focal point retarder installations, Rockwell/Wabco antilock brake applications. I was lead in producing new part numbers, creating bill of material, and inventory system procedures. I also played a role in Volvo WX series conversion for Super bus with Donaldson particulate trap.

New cab design & product improvement. Design & development of the “Signature” Series cab (an all-aluminum extruded cab for fire services.) Models include a 4-door midship, 4-door conventional, & a 2-door utility cab. The design & development of vinyl molded dash & overlaid dash panels for fire services. I later on I took on the role of Lead service engineer at the company.

This was my first term at Spartan; I was hired for new product development, designing product improvements, spec writing, engineering liaison, and research & development of motor homes. I designed a rear engine chassis called “Silent Knight” for the fire truck market. I played a key role in the design and improvement in (Engine & Trans, AI suspension for disc brakes, fuel & exhaust system). Designed and developed the “Gladiator” model (cab structure, mounting, tilt cylinders, cab lockdown, and interior trim). I provided the layout of a remote mounted transmission for use of the Chelsea PTO drive. This led to the layout of a rear engine motor home chassis (engine & transmission, front & rear air suspension, steering geometry and layout of front engine bus chassis for TVI trolley. I also worked on many custom chassis designs, working with customer in order to develop and provide a chassis to fit their body. I also created the layout and design of a UPS chassis for Grumman-Olson.
