James W. Martin High School

Martin HS was named an Honor Band State Finalist in 2010, as well as a UIL Marching Area Finalist. In 2009, Martin High School was named the GRAMMY Foundation National Signature School for the most outstanding performing arts programs among hundreds of applicants nationwide.Prior to moving to Texas in July of 2006, Mr. Carbone served as head band director for 13 years in public schools in Florida and Ohio, most notably as Director of Bands at Bellbrook High School (OH) from 2001 to 2006. The Bellbrook High School Marching Eagles were the Bands of America Class AA National Champions in 2004, and BOA Class A National Champions in 2001. Mr. Carbone was director of the Bellbrook Indoor Percussion Ensemble, WGI World Championships Scholastic Open Bronze Medalists in 2006.Dave is happily married to his wife Carrie, with whom he welcomed the arrival of their first child, Beckett David Carbone in April of 2010. The three reside in South Grand Prairie, with their three dogs - Zuzu, Bela', and Grainger.

Before teaching at Martin High School, Mr. Carbone served as a visiting professor and Interim Associate Director of Bands at the University of Texas at Arlington from 2006 - 2007, where he directed the UTA Marching Band, conducted the UTA Concert and University Bands, as well as taught several undergraduate music education courses.
