I led the finance function at Bounce and oversaw a team of 6 people. I partnered with the CEO and senior leadership team to ensure the financial and operational objectives were met. My responsibilities included signing off on the monthly accounts and presenting these at monthly board meetings. I worked with department heads to give insights and analysis on departments budgets, margin analysis, cost reduction strategies, benchmarking and strategic direction. Initiatives achieved included reducing the month end time frame from 20 days to 10 days and the introduction of a new accounts receivable process for international partners, reducing outstanding debtors by over 10%.

Inaugural Head of Finance for Jardan Australia. A manufacturer and retailer of high quality Australian made furniture. This role has given me a clear canvass of revamping the finance function and implementing a range of new policies and procedures which have included the introduction of monthly accounts, key financial metrics reporting, working with the business to identify cost saving measures, improving margins by working with operations to reduce lead times, having an accurate bill of materials for all products and the introduction of a budgeting and forecasting process. In my time thus far, we have grown the finance team and have clear and set career development plans for all team members.

I led the finance function at Express Travel Group. A privately owned organisation with over 100 staff and total revenue in excess of $900m. I was a strategic partner to the CEO, Executive Management and the Board. My responsibilities include signing off on the monthly accounts, leading and developing a team of 22 individuals, working with all departments in the areas of reporting, financial modelling, cost management, budgeting and forecasting, cash flow management and risk mitigation. I also maintained relationships with our external partners and suppliers.

I began my career at Flight Centre as an area accountant in the retail division for the first 4 years before moving onto a similar role in the corporate division. In both of these roles I was responsible for between 18 and 22 shops with tasks ranging from monthly audits all the way to monthly accounts for each shop. From there I was promoted to the Risk Leader/Assistant Financial Controller for both retail and corporate divisions. My role here oversaw the risk function for Victoria and Tasmania which included conducting financial misconduct investigations, providing training to area accountants, shops and area leaders. My final role at Flight Centre was Financial Controller for Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania. I led a team of 14 area accountants and was responsible for their learning and development. I also ensured that the consolidated accounts were produced in a timely and accurate manner along with the analysis of the monthly results. Other projects I worked on included the yearly budgeting process, wage modelling and conducting monthly development sessions for the finance team.
