Providing operational design and standards for a mix of Solaris and Red Hat Linux systems. All systems use NetApp storage, either through SAN boot or iSCSI boot and primarily NAS storage for application data.I define build standards for Solaris global zones and containers, Red Hat Linux primarily on VMware infrastructure and also standalone systems.

Provided production Unix systems support at client Network Appliance, Inc.Previous assignment was at client Credence Systems supporting their email migration from SunOne Messaging Server 5.2 to Microsoft Exchange 2007.Supported LDAP environment and provided tools and reports to assist in the migration to Exchange.

Designed and implemented three SAP HR highly available environments using Veritas Cluster 4.1.Migrated multiple systems from EMC Symmetrix to DMX-3 SAN storage.Served as technical project lead for developing and implementing Unix security enhancements in preparation for Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.Successfully migrated systems from Solaris 2.6 to Solaris 8 using Live Upgrade tool to minimize downtime for the applications.Defined, tested and implemented standard patch cluster and O/S release on all production systems.Created company security policies and procedures governing Unix system security.

Installed and maintained system and network monitoring application for critical network management and billing systems.Moved billing systems from Irvine data center to Walnut Creek data center.Mentored staff members to provide support for monitoring applications. Transitioned support of monitoring applications to staff.

Designed, implemented and supported HP OpenView tool suite for monitoring systems and networks at large call center.Upgraded the Solaris operating system on multiple servers at four remote locations.
