Social media and marketing for Throwing Bones for a Cure, Inc - a local 501(c)3 non profit dedicating to improving the lives of those diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a rare blood cancer for which there is currently no cure. Throwing Bones aids multiple myeloma patients in maintaining an active lifestyle when able and raises funds for the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF).

I came aboard weeks after their opening and was present for over their first two years of business, often functioning as a lead expediter centrally on chef’s line, but also trained on all other stations.

I spent a great deal of my professional career working with Tupelo Honey Café as they expanded their operations throughout the Southeast. I worked my way up from line cook to developer and deliverer of their Back of House training program. I was instrumental in the opening of eight locations from 2010 – 2015. During that time, I was often relied upon to flexibly focus on stores that needed proactive corrective leadership, and was routinely embedded as a manager trainer. This entailed developing training logs for HR use of all new employees. Most recently, outside of my duties as Training Coordinator for the corporate offices, I functioned as Chef de Cuisine (Lead Kitchen Manager) at both the flagship store in Downtown Asheville and at the South Asheville location. In that capacity, I was directly accountable for in-store scheduling, hiring, coaching, inventory, ordering, sanitation, cost control, and operational excellence.

I worked to quickly and safely install and run campus, local, and traveling performing art acts of a vast range of sizes. From running chamber ensembles and black box theatre performances to large orchestras and technically complex dance shows, I responded quickly to the spectrum of demands that an ever changing flow of performers required so that their shows would go on. My duties involved building sets to spec, hanging and focusing lighting instruments per designers' expectations, setting up and running sounds, and working with stage managers to meet all manner of needs and ensure smooth performance. The primary venue of this job was a 1,500 seat auditorium where a majority of the Cultural Affairs Department's programming was scheduled during the academic year. During the summer, their AppSummer festival was an intensive five week run of shows daily (or multiple shows per day) that ranged from tens of attendees, several medium sized venues, to a large scale stadium finale.
