Assistant Branch Manager
Current• Responsible for the efficient and customer service-oriented operation of the branch. Leads librarians in designing services and establishing partnerships for the location that align with the community needs and the library’s strategic plan.• Performs supervisory personnel functions within the department. Creates performance plans and writes performance evaluations for staff. Initiates personnel action as necessary and provides documentation to support such action.• Interprets and assists with the development of DC Public Library policies in managing the library branch. • Convenes regular meetings with staff to discuss procedures, rules and policies in order to achieve the goals and the objectives of the branch.• Directs the professional development of staff and the orientation of new hires. • Represents library at community events and meetings throughout the community and serves as liaison to location’s Friends of the Library group.
