Partner at Itad leading our work on monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) in fragile and conflict-affected environments.Currently Team Leader for the UK Conflict, Stability and Security Fund (CSSF) Africa MERL Partner, providing monitoring, evaluation, research and learning support to CSSF teams across East and West Africa. I am also Project Director for a four-year contract with the Home Office to provide MERL support to the Global Serious and Organised Crime portfolio; and I oversee a number of our refugee and humanitarian evaluations including the inter-agency humanitarian evaluation of the global response to Covid-19, the joint evaluation of the protection of the rights of refugees during the Covid-19 pandemic, an evaluation of UNHCR's engagement in situations of internal displacement, and an evaluation of ICRC's approach to partnership for strategic humanitarian impact.

Associate Partner at Itad leading our work on monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) in fragile and conflict-affected environments. Currently Project Director for two MEL Units for the UK Conflict, Stability and Security Fund (CSSF), providing MEL support to programme and portfolio teams across 10 countries in Eastern Africa and 5 countries in North Africa. Also currently engaged as a trainer for the UK Stabilisation Unit, contributing to the design and facilitation of a course for UK Government staff on MEL in conflict and stabilisation contexts.

Lead Itad's work on MEL in fragile and conflict-affected environments, specialising in designing, managing and delivering MEL work in the fields of conflict prevention, peacebuilding, stabilisation, disaster response and humanitarian assistance. Lead an M&E Unit for the UK Conflict, Stability and Security Fund (CSSF) in Eastern Africa, covering 12 countries, providing M&E and learning support to CSSF programme teams across the region. Senior advisor for Itad's MEL support to CSSF teams across the Middle East and North Africa region. Project Director for an evaluation of the coverage and quality of UNICEF's humanitarian assistance in complex and high-threat environments. Also currently engaged as a trainer for the UK Stabilisation Unit, contributing to the design and facilitation of a course for UK Government staff on M&E in conflict and stabilisation contexts.

Responsible for: - Managing the business development team and the cycle of upstream identification of bidding opportunites, bid writing, submission and quality assurance; - Contributing to developing the technical approach, workplan and budget on key proposals; - Conducting regular consultancy inputs on programme and thematic evaluations and M&E system design assignments, particularly as part of Itad's fragile and conflict-affected states portfolio;- Attending regular Management Team meetings to report on the efficiency of the bidding process and to provide strategic guidance on business development; - Building new and existing relationships with clients, associates and partners; - Developing company-wide M&E, knowledge management and communication systems.

Responsible for: - Leading the Business Development team; - Managing bid writing teams and contributing technical and financial inputs in the preparation of key proposals; - Conducting regular desk-based consultancy work for programme and thematic evaluations; - Co-managing the Fragile States and Aid Effectiveness Theme Group; - Regular attendance at Management Team meetings to contribute to business development strategy.

Led the preparation and submission of key EOIs and proposals and provided research and consultancy support to DFID thematic and country programme evaluations.

Copy-edited and translated for a number of academic publications (books, monographs and journal articles) on topics such as language and social exclusion in Europe and transnational migration in Southern Africa.
