As a scientist I have conducted research into plant soil and water relations primarily to identify and manage soil structural decline, non wetting behaviour in sands, nutrient retention and salinity in dry land and irrigated soils in Western Australia and New South Wales. This research has been published both nationally and internationally. As a project supervisor, developer and principle investigator I have been responsible for obtaining industry funds, collaborating and negotiating with farmers, research providers (Universities, CSIRO and State Government Organizations), promoting projects through all facets of the media and managing project resources (human and financial). Each of the projects I have been involved with has been completed to the satisfaction of the client, on budget and on time with minimal executive management input. This has been done in relatively remote areas of NSW and WA.As a team member, I have been able to work effectively with my peers, staff and management. These qualities have been formally recognized within the institutions I have worked. As a technical specialist, I have continually been at the forefront of technological advances to meet project objectives. I have considerable experience in designing and monitoring field experiments that relate to understanding soil limitations to plant growth. As a person I am client focused, energetic and “hands on” who sees projects through to completion.
