DATA SCIENTIST | ANALYST | ENGINEER** Applying my experience in performing arts, education, and professional poker to the world of DATA SCIENCE!**I have always been an analytical person. I love the process of finding solutions to problems, whether that be in the context of machine learning algorithms or perfecting a recipe for reverse-seared ribeye. I utilize the power of data science and analysis to find new ways to approach problems and tackle them head-on.My professional experience is a bit unconventional. Both of my college degrees, bachelor's and master's, are in music performance. I am an accomplished saxophonist, having performed in a wide variety of contexts as a soloist and ensemble member. My music career instilled in me many things, foremost being the value I place on self-improvement and attention to detail. I also learned a great deal about cooperation, collaboration, teamwork, and flexibility. Music has made me a person who brings teams together and fosters an excellent working dynamic.I continued to apply the critical thinking and analytical skills I gained from my musical career to another unconventional career: professional poker. I played poker professionally for over a decade. During that time, I continued to hone my analytical mindset and also placed a newfound emphasis on the characteristic of accountability. Humility and accountability are some of the foremost elements required for success as a poker professional. I was solely responsible for analyzing the elements of my KPIs. To sustain a successful career, I needed the ability to objectively evaluate my daily effort, state of mind, and overall strategic approach to the games I played. Then, I had to implement the strategic and tactical adjustments that I determined would improve my results. Currently, I am applying the breadth of my experience to my career in data. I am excited to utilize that knowledge to help drive organizational success stories. I am continuing to learn new skills every day, and I look forward to speaking with you!
