My background : My architectural background encompasses a number of sectors, including master planning, residential, commercial and healthcare. Notable projects I’ve worked on include the Welcome Building at Westonbirt Arboretum, Fisher House a ‘Home away from Home’ for military patients and their families at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, the new clinical research facility ‘The Institute for Translational Medicine’, and University Locks, a high quality 659 bedroom student accommodation building at Birmingham City University. In 2012, I established Hickman & Smith Architects with fellow architect, Adam Smith. What we do : At Hickman & Smith Architects, we are passionate about creating beautiful spaces. We work closely with our clients to bring their design ideas to fruition. We have a diverse portfolio of projects and specialise in home extensions, listed buildings, residential and commercial developments, and public architecture. What our clients say : “We are delighted with the plans. The build is on an angled plot so there were lots of factors to take into consideration to maximise the space inside whilst ensuring the exterior was aesthetically pleasing and tied in with the rest of the house and the rest of the street.” Get in touch : by email: david@hickmanandsmith.co.ukvia our website: www.hickmanandsmith.co.ukon facebook: @HickmanAndSmithon twitter: @HickmanAndSmith or by phone: 0116 207 8825Specialities: architecture, architectural design, planning permission, master planning, home extensions, new-builds, residential developments, student housing developments, listed buildings, commercial architecture, public architecture, CAD, vectorworks.
