I am Special Counsel and Head of Japanese Relations at FB Rice, one of Australia's leading and independent IP firms. I am a registered Australian and New Zealand Patent Attorney and a registered Australian Trade Mark Attorney.I am a member of FB Rice’s Sydney Engineering team and my practice includes preparing and prosecuting patent and design applications, patentability and freedom-to-operate searches, conducting patent oppositions and providing patentability and infringement advice.I have a strong focus on Japan (where I lived for 15 years) and as Head of Japanese Relations I am heavily involved in building and maintaining relationships with FB Rice’s Japanese clients and with Japanese patent firms. I regularly visit Japan and I enjoy the opportunity to meet directly with clients and with the firm's Japanese associates.I have over 27 years’ experience in general patent prosecution in Australia and in Japan, covering a diverse range of technologies including mechanical devices, metals and alloys, air conditioning systems, semiconductor fabrication, packaging and moulded articles, and building, construction and mining related technologies.
