Responsible for the creation of weekly staffing rotas with regards to requirements from the management, training of new staff members, ensuring that staff comply with licensing requirements and uphold our own code of practice.Working closely with the management of the Union and other staff I helped the Union gain accreditation at a national level through both Best Bar None NUS and Best Bar None Scotland in 2012 & 2013. Doing so allowed the Union to create more efficient and broader training for its staff and to update its training methods accordingly.

Hired to assist the outgoing Web Developer with the transfer of the Union's website from an external host to an internal solution, I was retained afterwards to provide technical support for the website and to develop a solution which allowed customers to buy Freshers Week passes and Sports Union memberships which involved refactoring of an existing PHP/MySQL framework.Transfer of the website involved extensive research into Virtualisation solutions on Windows Server 2008, to allow for High Availability failover of a cluster of Linux guest VM's, and the configuration of those Linux servers within VM's. DRBD was used on top of Ubuntu LTS to provide a high performance, highly available, fault tolerant multi master database service.

Hired to assist with the rollout of new computer systems throught the Association building and the extended campus, from initial setup through to final configuration. Using the open source FOG Project allowed me to make a master image of a system to deploy to subsequent machines in an efficient manner. Other duties involved adding content to the Union's new website and providing IT support.
