David McLaurin was Software Scientist at Nanometrics, "...a leading provider of advanced, high-performance process control metrology and inspection systems..." At Nanometrics he worked to improve the existing geometry processing pipeline. Additionally, David worked to build a foundation which will support the next generation of disruptive technologies in semiconductor modeling and simulation.

David McLaurin was a development engineer for CD-adapco, ``...the world's largest independent CFD-focused provider of engineering simulation software.'' He applied his passion for computational geometry to the advanced meshing technologies in CD-adapco's flagship product, STAR-CCM+. As a part of the surface meshing team, David was the lead developer on the Surface Wrapper, which is a core strength product inside STAR-CCM+. During his time at CD-adapco he developed novel functionalities in the Surface Wrapper, such as "Partial Wrapping", while also improving performance and robustness each release.

David enjoyed a successful early career as research faculty at Mississippi State University's High Performance Computing Collaboratory. During his three year stretch at MSU, David's work in applications ranging from wing ice accretion to solid rocket fuel modeling, from ideal mesh generation to multi-core/multi-threaded meshing helped secure almost $2,000,000 in research funding.
