I am responsible for the regulatory compliance performance of Yorkshirewater's sludge processing assets including the management of the integrated management system. For this role I hold a CoTC in waste management (wamitab level 4) in Anaerobic Digestion and a further qualification in Treatment of Non-hazardous waste. Duties include auditing of internal and external service providers, regulatory bodies liaison and environmental permitting and quality management compliance. My role includes ensuring that asset management cycle is constantly monitored so business and process risks are identified and intervention plans are put in place. I am responsible for Intergrated Management System for sludge assets ensuring the system and procedures conforms to ISO 9001, 14001, 18001 and 55001. I have ISO training and hold an IOSH qualification which allows me to confidently challenge and improve processes and procedures. I have experience of environmental permit applications and variations.

Manage assets and risk to achieve Environmental and Business needs. Ensuring the asset base is strategical aligned and associated tasks are delivered to maximise value and reliability. Develop and conduct survey's to ensure the asset is suitable for the task and is being operated and maintained whilst considering costs, risk and performance. Seek opportunities in new and existing process and assets to realise energy saving potential and reduce carbon footprint. Analyse complex data in asset or energy deficiency and propose and implement solutions either internally or externally using my vast network of expertise. Deliver full or partial solutions to exsisting or new plant.

Leading & Managing a team of 10 Incinerator Technicians in a processing facility to achieve maximum availability and throughput of sludge whilst achieving challenging financial and regulatory targets. Part of a leadership team which increased availability from 65% to 90% and throughput from 73% to 91% in 3 years. Responsible for a budget of £970,000, leading innovative projects, reducing operational expenditure improving asset reliability and instilling a change and responsibility culture in the team. I have led contract negotiations and renewals and I was the Procurement representative for my team, always seeking improved value and service contracts. Whilst on shift I was also responsible for YW’s four other ‘big’ sites consisting of three more Incinerators and a Sewage Sludge Dryer, each consisting of a team of 10. I have obtained a high level understanding of Waste Water Treatment, Energy Recovery and Incineration/Drying Process along with knowledge on all Regulatory requirements such as QMS, EMS, IPPC, WID & all the Environment Agency’s audit processes and requirements. Rolled out and supported Work Management System training for my team along withsupporting and leading a major Shift Work change in the Incinerator team whilst achieving an improvement in Great Place to Work scores and feedback. Provide emergency and non emergency support and advice for the team in all operational matters along with planning routine and annual shutdown maintenance through securing physical and financial resource. I have experience of crisis risk mitigation and have been involved in and often led teams to recover plant and process after incidents. I am competent in accident and incident investigations and produce Route Cause Analysis reports to ensure suchevents are not repeated.
